A new calmer, slower saner oil free world is about to slowly dawn as oil fades from the scene and other fuels take over! Sails will come back, in modern form, big time, as well as Solar! Next decades to make this clear to mankind - Saudi fields will run dry, Iraq a blip on the screen, South Azadegan Fields sold to China already! Canadian Tar-Sands not cheap oil at all! Turkmenistan to Russian interests and the 350 mile ling pipeline into China, while Anericans and Halliburton(Dubai) exasperate in Afghanistan wjth pipeline plans thwarted first by unfriendly native Talibans, second, rough geography! That oil will cost in lives, machinery for retrieval - possibly more than $15.00 US a bbl in New York harbor! Folly! Desperation! better put reactors in your Tanks Yankee Doodle! Fly your planes on CNG? Sails, Solar, Thorium bed reactors, Wave, Tidal, Geothermal all the way of the future, add Fusion reactors soon to come from and enlightened Asian intellectual community, and vola! The future, while Americans sit fat assed, critiquing German intelligentsia who see the light and pioneer a new sail format!

Sharing the World’s resources with Asians will certainly be a new experience for Americans, but to replace the Ken worths, Whites Volvo’s GM’s and Big Mack diesels with this seems a stretch! Soon, Asian demand will drive oil to all-time highs and we will adapt, but my boyhood dreams of great roaring huffing puffing black smoking dump trucks will never look like this not even in my grand children’s eyes! I saw the death of the mighty coal burning Steam Engines of the past, they are still magnificent in my heart, but my grandchildren have no idea at all, they only know Diesel - electrics! America brace yourself change is once again upon us and I don’t like some of it!

I think small electricity generation is the wave of the future. If each household or business generated between 50 and 80% of their own electricity, we could get away from huge power plants that have to transfer their electricity hundreds of miles to the consumer. The savings from energy loss alone should be valuable.

Using hydrogen for fuel makes so much sense to me. If we can produce clean affordable electricity thru wind, solar, or other method, we can make as much hydrogen as we need from water! When the hydrogen is converted back to energy the by broduct is water vapor.
