China-based Trina Solar, recently ranked #1 in the prestigious “Deloitte Technology Fast 50 China 2007″ ranking, has announced plans to build a $1 billion multi-phased polysilicon production facility in China’s Jiangsu Province that will eventually have the capacity to produce 10,000 metric-tons annually by the end of 2012. It’s just the latest announcement from one of the solar industry’s fastest-growing companies.
According to Deloitte, Trina Solar Limited was the overall winner in that ranking because it has recorded an astounding 27,542 percent three-year average revenue growth. Yes, that’s a comma in that number - no, it’s not supposed to be a decimal point. Trina’s primary business is the production of monocrystalline ingots, wafers and cells to the assembly of high quality solar modules. The compant, founded in 1997, was listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006. Its stock ticker symbol is TSL.
