Yamaha’s new fuel cell prototype, the EC-Dii, will be on display at the upcoming 2007 Tokyo Motor Show — but we’re already anxious to see more. Especially because it appears that the thing glows. We’re suckers for reenacting moments from Tron.
Anyways, this little efficient scooter employs a “Yamaha-exclusive” compact cell stack that ” features the highest level of power density in the 1kW class.” It also has a detachable lithium-ion battery for easy recharging and readily available parts and improved serviceability for DIY fixes. The bike uses methanol-water as the fuel.
Until Tokyo, we’ve got little other details. Needless to say, we hope this little scoot gets mass-produced for the rest of us.
