Power Those iPods!

Great Potential for Renewable Energy

Here’s a new one for ya! I can imagine this actually might go pretty well in hunting clothing, fishing hats, fishing vests and motorcycle jackets. It’s solar textiles - with built in solar panels! denimnews.blogspot.com The solar clothing, thought up by Collin  Dunn of Seattle, WA has the idea that human beings can become little solar power plants!

We’ve introduced solar backpacks, juicebags, renewableengeryaccess.com etc, but the idea of wearing small solar panels that are imbedded into jeans jackets is perhaps a bit off in the future. They say about 2 years or so(and probably not for me as I am not exactly an outdoorsy kinda gal)

Although this new technology is not going to see us getting rid of residential solar panels, it will give us an additional way to produce electric for mini-appliances!

For those rugged individuals who find themselves walking, biking, running, etc, this may be something to consider. I feel that this product could end up being quite the eco-chic/geek thing if it goes a bit further, say in beach blankets. It may also be the beginning of us seeing more clothing out on clotheslines in the sun literally catching those rays! I am kinda liking this one!
