When those dog days of Summer hit and your fan has bitten the proverbial dust, what is an environmentalist to do? You say, “open thine window, oh sage Eco-Geek!” Well, I think you can do one better than just utilizing the old Amish A/C. (window) I happened across this neat little product this summer when my old fan started making clunking sounds.
From O2Cool comes this personal fan–a mere 7″wide x 8.5″ high, it is perfect to sit on the nightstand or to have next to you on your desk. What’s even neater is that it is battery operated! It comes with its own built in Ni-Cad battery and can also use 4 D size batteries and battery charger/AC-DC adaptor for longer running time.
For those that need a lot of ‘white noise’, it may not be enough, but if you want COOL air blowing on you, this one far exceeded my expectations. This model has 5 curved blades which give the most refreshing breeze I’ve had from a fan in a long time. When they say O2Cool….they meant it!
(I have a larger model as well but ni-cad battery is not built in) O2Cool (er)?? The fans do not use as much energy as other tabletop models.
I took the compact fan to the fair with me while the kids and I volunteered in the horse barn this past August. I knew it was going to be stifling hot. The fan was recharged and we were able talk to folks in reasonable comfort while the fan was sitting atop our worktable.
