Ok, this is about the best one I’ve seen. Unlike the ultra noisy backyard turbine systems that will fling my beloved birds and the husband’s bats to the next county, this one looks like a keeper. The WINDSPIRE is easy to install, a DIY wonder, and after installation is a plug and produce wind generator.
The unit stands 30 ft. high, and is 2 ft wide, produces 1Kw of power. It can withstand 100 mph winds. It is propeller free, and frankly does in fact, look like moving art! It is something that this wind critic can actually light up to. (pardon the intended pun)
Mariah Power is taking reservations for the units that are expected to be ready in the fall of this year. Look for prices for the full kit to be around $3,900. Finally, a turbine I can afford AND live with!
